Hotels and Casinos on Fremont Street
The second most famous street in Vegas is Fremont Street. Of course, you have seen it at least once on TV, in a magazine, or somewhere else. But do you know that by nightfall, Fremont Street becomes the largest video – show in the world? Millions of lights and a lot of watts of music create for about 7 minutes the most magical pictures ever. Fremont Street is located downtown, in the old part of the city. One of the main attractions there is the pedestrian mall called The Fremont Street Experience. The Neonopolis shopping mall (there are 3 miles of neon lights there), famous for the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Arts and its 11-screen theatre complex Galaxy Neonopolis 11 is located on the Fremont Street Experience as well.
Binion’s Gambling Hall
Among the most famous hotels located there is Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel named after its founder – Benny Binion. The Fremont Street Experience is located in the famous Horseshoe Casino. When the casino was opened, there were very high table limits. For instance, the craps table limits were 10 times higher than in other hotels and casinos in Vegas. But since Binion intentionally avoided some tax payments, he served some time in Leavenworth Penitentiary and after that, he sold his share to Joe W. Brown. His sons Ted and Jack run the casino because Binion was not allowed to have a gaming license (not anymore). The Horseshoe casino hosted the World Series of Poker in 1970. In 1988 the Mint Las Vegas Hotel and casino became part of Binion’s Gambling Hall. In the Binions West Tower, you can enjoy the food of Binion’s Ranch Steakhouse. You can also visit Binion’s Deli, Binion’s Coffee Shop, and Binion’s Snack Bar with its delicious burgers. The Victorian Carnival-themed Four Queens Hotel and Casino which was named after the builder’s (Ben Goffstein) four daughters offers about 700 guest rooms and its main attraction is the largest slot machine in the world – the Queen’s Machine.
